David Bisset is an independent robotics consultant and has worked in Robotics for 27 years. An academic for 10 years he headed the mobile robotics research lab at the University of Kent. In 1998 he was recruited by James Dyson to start the robotics product group at Dyson Ltd. In 2000 the DC06 robot vacuum cleaner was announced but never came to market. He left Dyson in 2002 and founded iTechnic Ltd. Since then he has acted as a consultant in Robotics and Embedded Systems. He is currently working with the Knowledge Transfer Network in developing a set of Thought Leadership Papers on AI and Robotics.

Andrew is currently leading the Governments £93m ISCF Robotics in Hazard Environments programme being delivered by UK Research and Innovation. He joined the DTI on secondment from the National Physical Laboratory, to run the Network Security Innovation Platform in April 2006. He transferred to the Technology Strategy Board (Innovate UK) on its inception in July 2007. Andrew has been responsible for research programmes in; Privacy and Consent, Information Infrastructure Protection, Trusted Services, M-Commerce, Cloud Adoption, IoT and Robotics. He has represented Innovate UK on a House of Commons select committee on the use of Biometric Data. As Head of Enabling Capabilities he managed a team of Innovation Lead’s in: Robotics and Autonomous Systems; Electronics, Sensors and Photonics; Design; and Creative Economy. Since April 2018 he has been the Director for the ISCF Robotics Challenge. Andrew is a passionate STEM Ambassador and actively encourages links from UK Research and Innovation back into the Higher Education sector.
Geoff Pegman is the Managing Director of R U Robots and is a Chartered Director with over 31 years’ experience of the advanced robotics industry. Geoff helped set up the UK National Advanced Robotics Research Centre in the late 1980’s and ran the successful research programme there before going on to set up and lead UK Robotics, a spin-out with majority ownership by BNFL. As well as running his own company for the past 14 years, Geoff has been instrumental in spinning out another seven hi-tech companies during his robotics career.

Kiran leads the development of CFMS Artificial Intelligence capabilities. He is also be responsible for embedding data science technologies into all aspects of the CFMS industrial digitalisation programme driving productivity improvements for client companies.
In his prior role at Airbus Group Innovations (AGI) as a Data Science and Digital Transformation Consultant, Kiran was responsible for the exploration of emerging technologies that enable the digitalisation of industrial processes. During his time at AGI he was involved in the research and development of A350, A380, A400M and A30x aircraft programmes. With extensive experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics, he has worked with organisations including IBM, Dassault Systems, and Tata Technologies throughout his career.

Kevin began his career in the Automotive sector in engine design & development and quality systems. He moved to Network Rail in 2005 to develop major rail enhancement schemes in the West Midlands, including the Birmingham Cross City Line extension to Bromsgrove. In 2012 he joined the Research and Development Team, leading the Strategic University Partnerships and was technical lead for the EU SUSTRAIL project, he also represented Network Rail in the EPSRC Autonomous Intelligent Systems Partnership programme. Kevin Has recently joined the Birmingham Centre for Rail Research and Education at the University of Birmingham as Head of Delivery. He is the current chair of the National Robotics Network, which is a network of industry end user, supply chain and academic organisations who seek to work collaboratively through an open innovation hub.
